Grant Writing & Evaluation

Teams of students work with CBOs and develop marketable skills for future employment by researching funding opportunities using Foundation Directory Online (FDO) and preparing grant proposals for submission.  Since 2007, over 320 students have researched and written grants totaling more than $4 million and have secured approximately $2.5 million for local Community Benefit Organizations (CBOs).

Leadership, Administrative Principles, & Financial Literacy for CBOs

Learn best practices for organizational structure and finances and participate in a mentoring project by being paired with a Humanics alumnus now working in the sector.

SOC144 (#70642, TTH 2-3:15 p.m., Levine)

Social Policy Analysis, Advocacy, & Community Organizing

Learn the rules of political and civic engagement for CBOs and engage in a community-based project to address social injustice. This course TRIPLE COUNTS towards the SOC major/minor, Humanics Certificate, and Social Justice & Social Change Certificate.
